Gwithian is a small and welcoming village with a timeless feel. You’ll find cafés, a beautiful pub, and a historic church with Norman origins.

Nearby, Gwithian Beach stretches for miles, backed by rolling dunes and nature reserves. The South West Coast Path is easily accessible, and Godrevy Lighthouse stands proudly on the headland.

Seals are often seen resting on the rocks at Godrevy Point, with occasional sightings of dolphins and basking sharks offshore.

With a Cornish husband (born in Penzance and family homes in Hayle and Lelant plus our son went to Falmouth Uni) we have been regular visitors to Cornwall for over 30 years. In more recent years without family in Cornwall we have rented cottages and while we had Nancy our 1979 Vdub we camped at Gwithian campsite. December 23 was our first visit to Parc Place and it won’t be our last. We have already booked for April and December 2024. Gwithian and Godrevy are my favourite places in Cornwall, so when we came across Parc Place we booked. From the moment we made contact with Zoe she was brilliant, efficient and friendly. The cottage is fantastic and my husband and I agree that it is the best cottage we have ever booked in Cornwall. It has been beautifully renovated and thoughtfully equipped. The cottage has everything you need for a fantastic stay in terms of fully stocked kitchen, really comfy beds, fab showers etc. It had really cold weather during our stay but the cottage was always warm and cosy. The location couldn’t be better, quiet location, short walk to the pub and best of all short walk to the beautiful beaches of Gwithian and Godrevy. So looking forward to our next visit.

Family-friendly accommodation

Travelling with young children often means a little extra planning. To make family stays simpler, each of our holiday cottages is thoughtfully equipped with practical facilities.

Cots, high chairs and stair gates are available. Child-friendly cutlery and crockery are also provided, helping younger guests stay safe and comfortable during your stay.

The Old Farmhouse – with panoramic lighthouse views

The Old Farmhouse is a characterful self-catering holiday cottage near Gwithian Beach, set in a peaceful location just outside the village.

From the property, there are far-reaching views across the surrounding countryside towards the sea and Godrevy Lighthouse, creating a real sense of space and calm.

The Old Farmhouse comfortably sleeps up to six guests, with space for one cot. Up to two well-behaved dogs are also welcome by prior arrangement, making it a great choice for families or groups travelling with pets

Parc Place

Parc Place is a beautifully refurbished self-catering holiday cottage in the heart of Gwithian village, just a short walk from Gwithian Beach and the local pub.

The cottage retains many original features, whilst offering comfortable and well-equipped accommodation for relaxed coastal stays.

Parc Place sleeps up to six guests and can accommodate one cot. Up to two well-behaved dogs are also welcome by prior arrangement, making it a great choice for families or groups travelling with pets.

Sunset Retreat

Sunset Retreat is a beautifully handcrafted shepherd’s hut offering unique self-catering accommodation near Gwithian Beach.

Compact yet thoughtfully designed, it has everything needed for a comfortable stay for up to four guests, with space for a cot. Up to 2 well-behaved dogs are also welcome by prior arrangement.

Set within easy walking distance of the beach and local pub, Sunset Retreat is ideal for relaxed coastal breaks. Located adjacent to Parc Place, the two properties can be booked together — perfect for families or friends holidaying side by side.

With its peaceful setting and outdoor bath, Sunset Retreat is especially well suited to romantic getaways and quiet escapes by the coast.

  2. Within 24 hours, we’ll confirm availability and provide payment details. Payment is currently by bank transfer (BACS).

  3. Once payment is received, your stay is secured.

Booking conditions and cancellations

Booking

The contact name and person making the booking must be 21 years of age and over, agrees to be responsible for the party occupying the property and is authorised to agree to all the booking conditions on behalf of the other members of the party.

Before you book please ensure that you check with us any points of interest to your party eg steps in the property, location, access, distance from amenities. Please ask if you have any queries.

We reserve the right to refuse to accept bookings at our discretion where we believe that the booking would not be in the properties best interest.

We are unable to accept bookings from all male or all female parties unless by special arrangement.

All bookings are accepted on the clear understanding that the property is taken for holiday purposes only and is not to be used for any other purpose. It must be vacated by the agreed time and date.

Occupation of the property will be from 4pm on your arrival date until 10am on the departure date. Failure to depart by 10am will result in you being charged at the prevailing cost into which your occupation extends and any further costs incurred for unauthorised extension of tenancy including the full cost, including all administration and administration charges of us having to relocate another guest(s).

The number of people occupying Parc Place and The Old Farmhouse must not exceed 6. The number of people occupying Sunset Retreat must not exceed 4. All party members must be named on the booking. Only the named people are able to stay at the property. We reserve the right to refuse admission or terminate the tenancy without notice and enter the property and end the tenancy without refund for a breach of use as set out above.

We are allowed access to the property at any reasonable time during your stay, however we will try to contact you before we enter.

Payments

If the booking is made more than 8 weeks before the stay commences, a non refundable deposit of one-third of the total cost is required. The deposit is non refundable unless the conditions listed in the cancellation section are met.

The outstanding balance is due 8 weeks prior to the stay. If the balance has not been received by 6 weeks prior to the stay, we reserve the right after taking reasonable steps to contact you to re-sell the holiday and your holiday will be cancelled and the non refundable deposit retained.

If it is less than 8 weeks prior to the stay, the whole payment is due at the time of booking.

Cancellations

We will offer refunds up to 14 days before your stay (apart from the non refundable portion) in the unfortunate event that death, injury or serious illness of any member of the party named on the booking or a close relative (eg spouse, partner, parent, child, brother, sister), jury service of the party, posting of any member of the party in the armed services or at the request of the police. Any other reasons are not refunded.

Our decision is final and a £80 administration cost will be applied before refund.

If a cancellation is not covered for the above reasons we will try our best to re-sell the holiday on your behalf. If we are successful we will refund the amount paid less £80 for administration costs. Any refund will only be paid once the holiday period has finished.

We advise taking out independent travel insurance.

Responsibility

We take responsibility for the property to be in a clean and tidy condition, taking all reasonable steps to ensure that all facilities advertised are provided.

Please ensure you leave the property in a clean and tidy condition. Failure to do so will result in additional charges.

You are responsible for the replacement of any broken or damaged article(s) during your occupation or any damage done to the property itself (excluding wear and tear).

You and all your party must not do anything that may reasonably be considered to cause a nuisance to us or any occupier of neighbouring properties. We reserve the right to cancel the booking and take back possession of the property and its contents if any member of your party are in breach and damage has been caused, is being caused or likely to be caused. No refund of monies will be paid. We will not have any liability for any losses suffered as a consequence.

Cars and other possessions are your responsibility.

Only 2 cars are to be parked by the front of Parc Place and The Old Farmhouse parking in the designated area. There is space for 3 cars at Sunset Retreat. Electric vehicles are not to be charged at the property.

It is your responsibility to ensure that all information given in the property information guide is adhered to.

The property and its garden are a no smoking area. If smoking is found to be evident during your stay you will be required to vacate the property and forfeit the remainder of the holiday. If smoking is found to be evident after your departure then you will be charged for the professional cleaning of the cottage to rectify and will include the liability for the cost of cancelling all or part of any subsequent holiday bookings if the property is deemed to be not suitable for the following guest occupation.

During your stay

Please adhere to the information in the property information guide.

Bed linen and towels (one bath sheet and one hand towel per guest) will be provided for your stay. You will be charged for all damage or lost items.

Any cots, highchairs and stair gates used are your responsibility.

Liability

We do not accept any liability for any neglect, default, injury, accident or loss suffered by any person or possession in or about the cottage in any way arising from the cottage from any cause whatsoever.

We aim to ensure the details on the website, all advertising and all printed literature are correct. All information and prices maybe subject to change or deemed to be shown in error.

If for any reason the cottage becomes unavailable or deemed unsuitable for letting all monies will be refunded in full. No further claims will be acknowledged.

We do not accept any liability for any disruption of the tenancy due to surrounding or neighbouring properties whatsoever. This is to include all building works and noise.

We do not accept any liability or pay compensation where the cottage has become unavailable due to “force majeure” – an event we could not avoid eg storm and weather damage.

We can not guarantee the speed of the Wi-Fi or that it will be uninterrupted, error free or virus free. No compensation will be given for service purposes. Wi-Fi is provided for pleasure and not business purposes. Bookings will not be accepted if they are reliant on an uninterrupted and /or unlimited provision of WiFi or broadband service.

We can not accept any responsibility if local facilities or services become unavailable.

Complaints

We hope you have a very enjoyable experience and stay. Please allow us the opportunity to assist in any matters arising.

Pets

We aim for the property to have a secure garden, but can not take responsibility if it is found not to be so. No nuisance or excessive nose should be caused by your pet during the stay. On departure please ensure no waste is left in the gardens or property. Please note that any extra cleaning or damage caused by pets is your responsibility along with any incurred costs. Pets should be under control and under no circumstances left in the property alone.

Termination of contract

If the booking party fail to adhere to any of the conditions set above – we reserve the right to enter the property and terminate the tenancy.
