Parc Place

The cottage is fantastic and my husband and I agree that it is the best cottage we have ever booked in Cornwall. It has been beautifully renovated and thoughtfully equipped.

Situated in the heart of Gwithian Village, this charming detatched cottage has been recently refurbished to a high standard, but still in keeping with its traditional roots. Adjacent to other cottages on the hill down to the village centre, it sits near the village pub, and a summer campsite, and just a short walk from Gwithian beach, and the nature reserves. The village is a couple of miles from Hayle and Connor Downs, for shops and other places to eat,  and operates as a miniature hub of beach-loving outdoorsy visitors in the summer months.

Approaching the front of the property, there is parking for two vehicles, and a well-maintained garden, with a key-safe for entry, as well as pedestrian access to the back garden, so you don’t have to carry surfboards and wetsuits through the house.

You are welcome to bring 2 dogs, if they are well behaved.  Dogs should be supervised in the garden, and not left alone in the property at any time.

We are unable to accommodate Electric vehicle charging.

Downstairs

The lounge is the perfect retreat after a busy day on the beach, furnished with a comfy four seater sofa and a two-seater sofa, around a log burner, with alcoves full of books for guests to enjoy, and a TV with Freeview.

The kitchen has smart black appliances – hob, oven, microwave, fridge freezer, dishwasher – and plentiful storage space as well as ample crockery, utensils and pans. The old-style kitchen table has seating for 7, and a high chair can be supplied if you have need of it.

A peaceful and spacious ground-floor bedroom is ideal for children, or older visitors, with a single-over-double bunk, to give flexible accommodation for guests.  There is plenty of storage in this room and a nice view of the garden.

Also on the ground floor is a bathroom with an over-bath shower, toilet and hand basin, and a heated towel rail.

Upstairs

The stairs have built-in stairgates top and bottom, for safety for our smaller guests, and any four-legged ones (dogs are to stay downstairs).  The stair has a tight turn, and is quite steep, so please be aware of this if any guests have limited mobility.

There are matching double rooms to the left and right, upstairs, with luxurious king-sized beds, and peaceful décor to ensure guests have a relaxing holiday. We are sorry but we are unable to accommodate personal preferences for bedding. Please contact us if you would like to know what tog duvet is provided. We can supply cots if you need them, and both rooms have wall-mounted TVs, ample storage space, and pleasant views.

The final room upstairs is the bathroom, with shower, toilet and hand basin.

General Information

The rear garden is enclosed, so suitable for dogs, and well maintained, with a picnic bench so guests can enjoy the fresh sea air, and gorgeous sunshine.

There is an external utility room housing a washing machine, tumble dryer and other useful items, and access is also given to the garage, for storing bikes, surfboards, etc.

At the back of the garden is a lockable gate which gives access to our other property, Sunset Retreat. These properties can be booked together, and the gate left unlocked, if you wish.

Mobile signal is limited at the property, network dependent.

I live just 2 minutes’ drive away, so can be called upon in emergencies.

Guest Review

With a Cornish husband (born in Penzance and family homes in Hayle and Lelant plus our son went to Falmouth Uni) we have been regular visitors to Cornwall for over 30 years. In more recent years without family in Cornwall we have rented cottages and while we had Nancy our 1979 Vdub we camped at Gwithian campsite. December 23 was our first visit to Parc Place and it won’t be our last. We have already booked for April and December 2024. Gwithian and Godrevy are my favourite places in Cornwall, so when we came across Parc Place we booked. From the moment we made contact with Zoe she was brilliant, efficient and friendly. The cottage is fantastic and my husband and I agree that it is the best cottage we have ever booked in Cornwall. It has been beautifully renovated and thoughtfully equipped. The cottage has everything you need for a fantastic stay in terms of fully stocked kitchen, really comfy beds, fab showers etc. It had really cold weather during our stay but the cottage was always warm and cosy. The location couldn’t be better, quiet location, short walk to the pub and best of all short walk to the beautiful beaches of Gwithian and Godrevy. So looking forward to our next visit.
