Sunset Retreat

A traditional Shepherd’s hut that was hand crafted in 2019 with an exceptional standard of décor, perfect for a family or a couple.  You are welcome to bring a well behaved dog which should be supervised in the garden, and not left alone in the property at any time.

Shepherds’ huts are, by nature, compact, but, with all the comforts of home, this one is a luxurious hideaway, as well as a perfect base for your outdoor adventures.

Set in its own gravelled plot, there is ample parking for three vehicles, a picnic bench, and ready access to the beach across the road. The entire plot has a gated entrance, which means it is safe for smaller guests to play, and for dogs. There is an additional external shower so that you can remove sand, mud or salt before you enter the hut, because we know sand gets everywhere!

We are unable to accommodate Electric vehicle charging.

Accommodation Details

There is a covered porch area up a few steps, also hiding a cupboard for a barbeque, drying rack and other small items.

Inside, the kitchen area on the left features a microwave, toaster, kettle, sink, fridge with freezer compartment, full-sized double oven with grill, and four-burner hob, together with storage space and utensils.  The dinky wood burner is surprisingly powerful, and perfectly heats the entire space, but you won’t feel cold because there is underfloor heating throughout the hut.

The bathroom, opposite the kitchen area, has a shower, a toilet, a petite sink, electric towel rail and surprising amount of elbow-room!

A pair of soft chairs are angled to watch the TV, and can be supplemented by a pair of generous beanbags, which live under the bed. A folding table lifts out from the wall, for meals or board games, and four folding chairs are tucked away in the room divider behind it. There are double doors that open to the side of the hut, with steps to the ground, opening up the hut so you can watch the sunset.

At the far end of the hut are the beds, creatively arranged to allow a king-size bed with access on either side, and a pair of singles above it, bunk-style, with a divider between, accessed by ladders to each side. We are sorry but we are unable to accommodate personal preferences for bedding. Please contact us if you would like to know what tog duvet is provided. There is shelving and wardrobe space at the end of the bed plus drawers beneath, and in the room divider between beds and living area.

General Information

Cosy and luxurious, Sunset Retreat is perfect for a few days of tranquillity, or as a base to return to after your day’s activities – everything you need without any fuss.

Mobile signal is limited, network dependent.

At the back of the plot is a lockable gate which gives access to our other property, Parc Place. These properties can be booked together, and the gate left unlocked, if you wish. Access to the property is via key safe entry.

I live just 2 minutes’ drive away, so can be called upon in emergencies.
